1. Spec sheet comparisons

It’s like looking at the difference in cars…LOL.

In terms on numbers the DH2 trashes the DH1.

But what does these numbers mean to you?

Sensor pixel – Higher megapixels means that the pictures can be enlarged bigger. If you want to create big prints like A4 size and above, the higher the megapixels, the better!

Macro mode – Shorter the range, the nearer to the object you can shoot. DH2 (3cm) beats the shit out of DH1 (10cm) in terms of macro mode. Picture below is from the DH2 macro mode.

Memory – The bigger the number the better, means it can support bigger memory cards which enables you to capture more pictures and more videos.

2. The main differences

• Digital Harinezumi 2 records sound in movie mode.
• Digital Harinezumi 2 has a monochrome mode (black & white).

3. What about the camera?

Superheadz says this

“We made a decision that Digital Harinezumi would be a somewhat whimsical camera. Think about it – it’s much more fun if each camera has it’s own personality, right? That’s why each one can have such a difference in the way it takes photos. Also, we are updating the way the camera works – changing the firmware, the menu, even the lens.

And, so it goes. Now 2 is out, some people say that 1 is better. Some people prefer the limited edition white version. Some people say 2 is the newest and best. What’s important is.. What do you think?”

4. That’s just the difference between the DH1 and the DH2, what about the DH CHINON?

The Digital Harinezumi CHINON is basically a DH1 preloaded with firmware v1.00. This means you can tweak the colors of your picture and enable live view. The cool thing bout tweaking the color of your pictures is that you can recreate the effect of your favourite film like the Agfa ct precisa 100. So if you prefer the DH1 over the DH2, you should get this version.

5. What do *I* think?

For those who have known me or asked me this question before “Which is the best?“. My reply is always simple, pictures first, camera second. After all a camera is for taking pictures no?

Furthermore I don’t think there is such thing as the “best”. Other than sharing the name of harinezumi, both cameras are essentially different and takes significantly different style of pictures. They might as well called it digital sang kancil.

My advice?

Get both.

But let’s be realistic, not everyone has a deep pocket. So my recommendation is to go to the digital harinezumi gallery (you can compare between DH1 and DH2 pictures!) and see which pictures that capture your attention most. Choose the camera which shoot the pictures that attract you. This is the BEST way to choose ANY camera.

Presenting to you the Digital Harinezumi CHINON Limited Edition. I would like to clarify that this is NOT Digital Harinezumi 3, the latest model or the successor/replacement for the Digital Harinezumi 2. It actually should be (*I assume) the predecessor of the Digital Harinezumi 1.

The Digital Harinezumi 1 worked on firmware v1.10 and above. The CHINON version is preloaded with firmware v1.00.

What is the big deal?

Remember the earlier versions of the Digital Harinezumi 1 (with firmware v1.14 and below), you can access a secret mode which actually enables live view AND the ability to tweak the colors of the pictures you are about to snap! Everybody loved it! You can create the hues and colors of your favourite film like Agfa CT precisa and stuff!

Guess what? Superheadz disabled the secret mode after v1.15. NO MORE TWEAKING!

So what now?

Apparently since the CHINON version uses firmware v1.00, it means that you can once again access into the secret mode to enable live view and tweak your colors! Wow wee. I have not personally tried it (and the manual is completely in Japanese) but I assume you can access the secret mode the same way you did with v1.14 and below? Read more about it <here>.

It also looks somewhat different now, it has a big CHINON logo on the face of the camera and it only comes in matte black. So no more glossy black and unwanted finger prints on your camera~

This is Kurumi Sahana. Kurumi Sahana is one of the main characters from Kazuto Okada’s manga Sundome.

What is “Sundome”?

Sundome literally means “stopping the moment before,” in this case referring to being stopped just before ejaculating.

I guess after the initial introduction most of you guys will be asking WTF!?! What does any of this stuff gotta do with The *Click* Shop. Even as a self-proclaimed manga fan, I have not read or heard about Sundome till today. Maybe it’s cause I read different genres than those of Sundome. So in the name of product research, I decided to read the manga! (oh the sacrifices I make for you folks!)

If you are looking for Hentai (Japanese pornographic comics)… This is NOT for you (and you are in the wrong website btw, LOL).

To sum it up, it’s strange.

It’s not your typical perverted comic with nudity, pornography and vulgarity. It is always insinuating the elements of sex without ever reaching the point of being obscene. Classy stuff? Not really either. Strange, funny and very provocative. If you have the time, it’s actually (i hope i don’t live to regret saying this…) WORTH the read if you are looking away from the mainstream manga genres!

I’ve always wondered, if big companies like Air Asia can amass up to 17,799 fans (at the time I’m writing this), can smaller communities like The *Click* Shop ever dream to match it? I love challenges so let’s declare war (not literally) with Air Asia and try to whoop their butt by having more fans than them!
